Database search functionality and the Fantasy Fencing tool need improvements
Compared to many other sports, the fencing community is fairly small. It’s not unheard of, nationally or internationally, for fencers to encounter Olympians or world champions during competition.
With the size of the community, fencers are extremely tight knit and like to keep up with what’s happening in that world. Many fencers depend on YouTube and sites like The Fencing Database to keep them in the loop. The Fantasy Fencing aspect of the database also provides a communal aspect. Since few other websites offer this data, Fencing Database is a key resource for those who wish to stay up to date with the community.

Design
The final design offers a fresh take on The Fencing Database. The home page now serves as a hub for the website, with the addition of an improved site header for the web version and hamburger menu for the mobile version. The functionality and design of all pages is more user-friendly, and it’s more clear how users are supposed to use tools like Fantasy Fencing. The result is a website that fencers can use more easily to stay in the loop about the sport they love. The new design also includes clearer links to blog pages, the fencing wiki, and other external links.
